We understand the obstacles that patients face when confronted with braces. Whether it is the time commitment, the embarrassing appearance or the discomfort, countless patients avoid or dread traditional braces. Invisalign is the perfect alternative. Others won’t even know you are undergoing orthodontic treatment, and it is just as effective for correcting mild to moderate misalignment.

Invisalign works by using a series of clear aligners. The aligners are made of thin, smooth plastic and are changed out every two weeks until your orthodontic goals are achieved. Invisalign aligners can move teeth horizontally, vertically and even rotate them if needed. They are carefully engineered for each patient’s unique needs. Best of all, Invisalign is virtually invisible to others, and the aligners can be removed for eating, brushing and flossing.

Invisalign Teen

Do you have a socially-conscious teen or one that keeps a crazy-busy schedule? When it comes to orthodontics, Invisalign Teen may be a more preferred solution than traditional braces. Teens love the chance to achieve a straighter smile without the embarrassment of metal braces. Furthermore, Invisalign doesn’t require frequent adjustment or tightening appointments. In many cases, the total treatment time is also faster than metal braces. Finally, your teen won’t be excluded when it is time to enjoy popcorn, candy or other foods that are often restricted for those wearing traditional braces.

Invisalign and Invisalign Teen offer more than just comfort and convenience. This smile straightening system also benefits your oral health. With the ability to remove the aligners to brush and floss, you can keep your teeth and gums cleaner during treatment. Not to mention, a straighter smile is also one that is healthier.

If you or your teenager suffers from gapped, crowded or misaligned teeth, consider one of the most advanced options in clear orthodontics. Contact Three Creek Dentistry today and let’s find out if Invisalign is right for you!

Invisalign FAQs

How long will I have to wear Invisalign aligners?

The length of your treatment plan will depend on your unique smile and orthodontic needs, but many patients can complete their treatment in an average of 12 to 18 months. When you decide to pursue orthodontic treatment using clear aligner therapy, it’s important to commit to wearing your aligners as often as you can, or around 20 to 22 hours per day. This is because each aligner needs an adequate amount of time to move the teeth into their ideal positions, and if they don’t get enough time, your treatment plan may take longer.

Is Invisalign painful?

When your teeth are not used to being shifted, wearing clear aligners can cause some pain and discomfort. Fortunately, Invisalign aligners are made of a smooth plastic material that is typically comfortable to wear for many hours at a time, and once your teeth get used to being shifted, you shouldn’t experience as much discomfort. In the meantime, taking over-the-counter pain medication and eating cold foods like popsicles can help to numb pain and make wearing Invisalign aligners easier.

How should I take care of my clear aligners?

Clear aligners should be well taken care of to ensure that they remain clear and discreet. Before you put your clear aligners back in after eating, make sure to brush your teeth or at least rinse your mouth out well first. You will also want to use a soft-bristled toothbrush and clear soap to brush your aligners at least once per day. We always recommend that patients store their aligners in their case to avoid losing them or damaging them. Should anything happen to your aligners, please let our team know as soon as possible.
